Joseph A. “Jay” Connor, JD/MBA, Founder/CEO


Mr. Connor brings broad expertise in business management, venture start-up, research & development as well as a sophisticated understanding of educational and community outcome achievement as evidenced by his 2003 book: Community Visions, Community Solutions.  He has held senior management, sales, marketing and operations position in two Fortune 100 companies. He is a “Thought Leader” with Tamarack Foundation; he sits on the Board of Advisors to the Beall Center of Entrepreneurism at the Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine, and is a Visiting Scholar / Mentor at the Entrepreneurial Center at King Abdullah University for Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia.  He has held adjunct or courtesy appointments at several of the most prestigious research universities in the US: University of Michigan, Florida State University, The Florida Center for Reading Research and Arizona State University.  He has also been the Principal Investigator for two US Department of Education SBIR awards.

Nick Voegeli, BS Engineering, Chief Technology Officer


Mr. Voegeli is an expert in web development and technical project management. He has designed and supervised A2i software redevelopment to permit scale per our 2014 IES SBIR. He’s worked closely with researchers and professional development experts and has a profound insight into A2i’s development evolution.  Mr. Voegeli has been a technical consultant providing custom software, network infrastructure, web design and IT solutions for the past 15 years, utilizing agile development, best practices and modern web development practices.

Sarah I. Siegal, PhD Elementary Education, Director of Reading Research

Sarah-Photo2Dr. Siegal was an A2i research interventionist, working in classrooms alongside teachers using A2i software.  She has published extensively in peer reviewed journals.  She was instrumental in designing and developing the A2i software platform and on-line professional development.  Her principal passion is aligning research and practice to the benefit of improving educational outcomes. Dr. Siegal currently continues to support this research at the University of California – Irvine.


Elizabeth Coyne Crowe, PhD Elementary Education, Director of Professional Development

ElizabethDr. Crowe is a former elementary school teacher.  She was an A2i research interventionist, working in classrooms alongside teachers using A2i software, providing training as well as technical assistance. She also led the team who designed modules for on-line professional development. Dr. Crowe currently continues to support this research at Florida State University and with the Associate Florida Center for Reading Research.


Kanani Voegeli, BS Technology and Entrepreneurial Management, Director of Community Outreach

She was the marketing director and director of administration for an education-focused non-profit for 9 years, focusing much of her effort on community outreach and support for school administrators.



Elliot Amiel, BS/MBA Finance, Chief Financial Officer

ElliotMr Amiel has had over 35 years experience in Finance and Operations in a major corporation in the service industry. His roles have included responsibility for national financial support, acquisition negotiations and integration, financial management training, productivity, performance and profitability improvement.
